Good health is about more than responding when something feels wrong. It is also about asking questions, understanding your options, keeping up with preventive care, and knowing where to turn for help.

That is why the HomeTown Insurance & Financial Services team is glad to participate in the 2026 Archuleta Health Fair & Expo, happening Saturday, October 24, from 7:00 a.m. to noon at Pagosa Springs High School. The HomeTown team will be there to meet with community members, answer Medicare and health insurance questions, and explain how its local insurance services can help individuals and families.

Organized by Healthy Archuleta with support from community partners, the annual event brings healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, local businesses, volunteers, and residents together. It gives people a convenient way to learn about services that support their health and well-being while strengthening the community connections that help Archuleta County thrive.

What Attendees Can Expect

The Health Fair & Expo is designed to connect local residents with affordable wellness services, helpful information, and organizations working throughout the community.

Current registration information includes:

  • A $5 Health Fair registration fee, which helps cover food provided during the event, including breakfast
  • A $20 lab panel that includes CMP, CBC, lipid, A1c, and TSH testing
  • An optional PSA test for men for $6
  • An optional Vitamin D test for $16
  • Opportunities to meet healthcare providers, wellness organizations, community programs, and other local resources

Healthy Archuleta notes that additional information about screenings, participating organizations, educational activities, and the final schedule may be added as plans are confirmed. Visit the official Archuleta Health Fair & Expo page for the latest information.

Planning to Have Lab Work Done?

Advance registration is open, and attendees requesting lab services will select an appointment window. The current instructions ask lab participants to fast for 12 hours beforehand, consuming only water, and to arrive at the beginning of their selected window. The registration form also notes that people arriving after 9:30 a.m. may not be able to receive lab services.

Lab results will be delivered through the Labcorp patient portal. The screening does not include interpretation or follow-up by a medical provider, so attendees who want help understanding their results should plan to speak with their physician or another qualified healthcare provider.

Because event offerings and instructions can change, review all current preparation requirements when registering.

Why Community Health Events Matter

Health information can be difficult to navigate. A community event makes it easier to ask questions, learn about available services, and take a practical step toward preventive care.

It can also open the door to helpful conversations at home. You may attend for your own wellness screening, help a parent or family member register, or simply learn more about local services before you need them. Each of those steps can make future health decisions feel more manageable.

The Health Fair also reflects something we value deeply at HomeTown: strong communities are built through trusted relationships. When local professionals, volunteers, organizations, and neighbors share information and support, more people can find the resources they need.

Health Coverage Questions? HomeTown Is Here to Help

A health fair can help you learn more about your health. It may also prompt questions about your insurance coverage, including which providers are in your network, how preventive services are covered, or whether your Medicare or individual health plan still fits your needs.

HomeTown Insurance & Financial Services is here to help Colorado and New Mexico residents understand their options with clear, personal guidance. We can help you review coverage, prepare questions, and approach important insurance decisions with greater confidence.

The HomeTown team will be available at the Health Fair to discuss Medicare and health insurance, answer general coverage questions, and help attendees identify useful next steps. Stop by, meet the crew, and let us know how we can help.

We hope to see our neighbors at the 2026 Archuleta Health Fair & Expo. Register early, review the latest event instructions, and take one more step toward a healthier year.
