Medicare & Corona Virus

Coverage Changes for Covid-19

The declared Public Health Emergency ends on May 11, 2023.

As a Medicare beneficiary, What does this mean to me?

Well, you’ll still have access to COVID-19 vaccines at no cost, plus PCR and antigen tests with no out of pocket costs with a doctor’s orders.

Expanded telehealth service access continues until the end of 2024.

After May 11, 2023, over the counter (OTC) COVID tests will not be covered by Medicare.

Items & Services related to COVID-19

Covered access to lab tests, and OTC tests for the virus are coming to an end coinciding with the end of the public health declaration.

Many other services including vaccines and monoclonal antibody treatments are to remain under coverage.

Did you pay for a COVID-19 vaccine?

This should never happen!  Make sure to review your statements, and receipts from providers.  If you notice an error, call your provider’s office to note anything you think is incorrect.

Always stay alert for scammers!

Don’t share your Medicare number with strangers.  If someone calls asking for your number, and it sounds strange; it likely is!  Hang up!
